The 2026 Good Friday Appeal Home has officially sold for a record breaking $1,212,000 at today’s no‑reserve auction in Villawood’s Alamora community - with every dollar raised helping support sick kids and their families through The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
For Gurshish and Kiran, the winning bidders, this was a life-changing experience; securing a multigenerational sanctuary in the suburb they have proudly called home for the past 15 years. It is a place where they can build the next chapter of family life with their two daughters, Gurbani, 14, and Arzowi, 10, alongside Gurshish’s parents.
The auction of the Good Friday Appeal Home is always special - but this year, one moment stood above the rest. Midway through the afternoon, the crowd paused as brothers Keni and Kobi we're welcomed on stage to celebrate their 7th and 8th birthdays, shared on auction day itself.
As birthday cakes appeared and more than 1,000 people joined in song, the atmosphere shifted. The joy on their faces was unforgettable.
Keni, who is currently undergoing treatment at The Royal Children’s Hospital, has shown extraordinary courage throughout his journey. Together, he and Kobi reminded everyone present what strength, resilience and family truly look like.
This year marks another remarkable chapter in our long‑standing partnership with the Appeal - a collaboration that has now contributed more than $22.7 million towards the world‑class paediatric care provided by The Royal Children’s Hospital.
This year’s home, the Lancaster 440‑D47 with the striking Monroe façade, was built on land donated by Villawood Properties for a record 17th year. Set on a 448m² north‑facing block opposite tranquil wetlands in Alamora, the home has been one of the most visited in the history of the Appeal.
From the first slab pour to the styling of the final room, this home was brought to life through the generosity of scores of tradies, suppliers, contractors and partners - all donating their time, materials and expertise.
Every detail inside and out, including landscaping, furniture, décor and appliances, was fully donated in support of the cause.
Tindi Sorbera, General Manager Marketing, Henley, said the atmosphere was unlike anything the team could have imagined.
"What a Great Friday. I’m still shaking - 34 registered bidders and 44 bids, the auction was unbelievably exciting".
"A huge congratulations to Gurshish and Kiran - they’ve not only just bought a show stopping home in a street full of their friends, but the record breaking bid of $1,212,000 all goes straight to the Royal Children’s Hospital and will be life‑changing for so many little lives".
"Congratulations to the Henley and Villawood teams and every trade and supplier for donating their time, skills and resources who made this possible".
"Everyone at Henley is incredibly proud to have supported the Good Friday Appeal for 34 years, and today — our 47th home — takes the total we’ve raised since 1993 to over $22.7 million".
Villawood Properties’ Rory Costelloe echoed the sentiment.
“In 2025, the Good Friday Appeal home achieved $1,150,500 and this year has again shown what is possible when generosity meets purpose,”
“We are proud to donate the land, and we are equally proud of the village of tradies and suppliers who bring this home to life.” Rory said.
This year marked the 47th Good Friday Appeal Home and our 84th charity home worldwide.
Each year, the total raised goes directly to The Royal Children’s Hospital, funding research, technology, equipment, family support and lifesaving treatment for children across Victoria.
We extend our deepest thanks to:
- The volunteer tradies, contractors and suppliers
- Villawood Properties
- The Good Friday Appeal team
- Everyone who visited, shared, supported or donated
- And the new homeowners, Gurshish and Kiran, whose bid will make an extraordinary difference
This is more than a home. It is a symbol of hope, generosity and community - and today, it became part of a family’s story while helping thousands more.
