Smiths Lane shimmered under a canopy of lights as we unveiled our first-ever Diwali celebration – an evening that blended tradition, family fun and pure joy. Guests stepped into a world of vibrant colours and cultural splendour, greeted by the warm glow of diyas and the rhythmic beats of Bollywood music drifting through the evening air.
From the moment the façades burst into colour to the aroma of Masala chai and delicious canapés, the atmosphere was electric – a beautiful tribute to the Festival of Lights and everything it symbolises: hope, togetherness and new beginnings.

A home transformed
Our Aegean 371-D40 display home became the heart of the celebration, dressed head-to-toe in Diwali finery. Gold vases bursting with bright florals framed the entry, marigolds danced from the ceiling, and shimmering details caught the light at every turn. It wasn’t just styling; it was a fully realised mood – warm, welcoming and wonderfully immersive.
A feast of flavours by Two Fat Indians
Guests savoured a curated selection of Indian favourites with a modern twist. The samosa chaat stole the show as the crowd favourite, alongside other vibrant bites and indulgent sweets. Signature mocktails added a refreshing splash of colour, perfectly complementing the festive vibe.
Music, movement and memory‑making
The Aegean’s living and meals area transformed into a lively dance floor as mums, dads, children and grandparents joined in, singing every word to their favourite Bollywood songs. Faisal Amlani set the tone with an incredible setlist that had everyone cheering and singing along.
The alfresco dining table became a buzzing craft zone where kids created beautiful diyas and colourful elephants, while the face painter stayed busy all night adding sparkle to little faces. Guests came dressed to the nines in elegant sarees and salwar kameezes, adding even more colour to the celebration.
Light that lingers
Couldn’t make it, or keen to relive the glow? The façade light installation across our three homes remains on show until 26 October. It’s worth the visit – best viewed at dusk, when the colours bloom against the evening sky.
Where: Smiths Lane display centre
On until: 26 October (light display from twilight to 11pm)
